DOVER CHEMICAL CORPORATION RECEIVES FDA CLEARANCE FOR DOVERPHOS® LGP-12
New Thermal Stabilizer for Food Contact Applications
Dover, OH – Dover Chemical Corporation has received FDA clearance for Doverphos® LGP-12 as an antioxidant thermal stabilizer in polymeric food-contact articles in linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) under conditions of use A through H, at loading levels in the polymer up to 2000 ppm. The clearance also covers adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, can-end cements and repeated-use food contact applications up to 1%.
Doverphos® LGP-12 is a proprietary liquid high molecular weight polymeric phosphite that is a suitable alternative to any phosphite in polyolefin applications. It is also recommended for use in other resin systems where high performance and exceptional color hold is needed. Doverphos® LGP-12 is unique in that it contains no alkylphenol components and no SVHCs. Its high phosphorus content (7.3%) provides superior performance and allows for lower loading levels, and, coupled with its polymeric nature, low migration. Doverphos® LGP-12 offers unmatched color hold and physical property retention, and was developed with the future and sustainability in mind, using biodegradable raw materials.
